Recently, I decided it was time to revamp our napkin ring holders. We purchased our original ones from Pier 1, and they were made from peacock feathers. I wanted to keep the same theme this time around.
I headed to Hobby Lobby and found some peacock feather stems that also had a blue accent feather. Perfect! I found the same blue colored jewel in the jewelry section to add to the center of the holder. I had the hardest time finding the napkin ring holders, but, persistence finally paid off! I found some cute silver ones at Kohl’s and they were on sale for $1.50 each.
1. Cut the feathers near the bottom of the stem with wire cutters.
2. Hot glue one of the peacock feathers to the napkin ring holder at an angle. Then glue on another peacock feather angled in the opposite direction.
*Tip: Use a toothpick to press the feathers onto the holder.
3. Glue the blue accent feathers on top of the peacock feathers near the center. Make sure they are spread evenly, and there aren’t any feathers pointing in odd directions. Trim the feathers if they are too long.
4. Lastly, glue the jewel to the center of the napkin ring holder.
This was very quick and easy to do. I like these new napkin ring holders much more than my old ones!
