2014 Recap Blog Hop

Good Morning!

I can’t believe it is time to recap the year 2014 already…..

When I sat down to really think about everything that has happened this past year {and what I really wanted to share with you} I became a little hesitant.

You see in real life I have no issue telling you anything you want to know about me. Perhaps sometimes I even say a little too much. But, that’s just me.

In the blogging world I tend to hold back a little for some reason. In 2015, I’m going to focus on being more open with you about my life, because being an avid blog reader myself it seems the posts I enjoy the most are about other blogger’s lives.

Now don’t get me wrong, I love seeing their crafts and home décor too…but being open and sharing things is really what blogging is all about.

Not to mention…I’m not really being my true self if I don’t open up a little more. So, what better time to start being open than with my 2014 recap!

Here we go…

2014 Recap

For the first time {in a pretty long time} I finally felt like myself again in 2014.

This may sound completely crazy and weird to say, but I felt like my 20’s were a complete blur. Full of some heartache, confusion and really no sense of direction.

Whatsoever.

I was able to do some cool things, and meet some great people…but I was just off.

Do you know the feeling?

I think the 20’s can be a challenging time for anyone, because you feel like you have to have everything figured out. And some 20’s somethings do…but I just wasn’t one of those people.

In my case this caused me to have some unnecessary stress that really started to take a toll on my health and body. And I’m talking some weird things that even doctors couldn’t figure out…because believe me I went to several for answers.

I’m no expert…and certainly do not have any type of medical degree, but after living through all of this and making it out to the other side better than I have ever been in 2014 {all while without making any significant health or medical related changes} I can see that these issues of mine had to have been caused by stress. And l am well aware that stress can do some crazy things to people.

So…you may be wondering what did I do different this year?

I turned 30…

In all seriousness though…I stopped worrying about where I was supposed to be in my 20’s and started enjoying where I am at right now.  I started to appreciate all of the blessings and great people that are in my life, and stopped worrying about those that weren’t any longer. I found the confidence that I had gained and lost somewhere in my 20’s and started applying it in my sales job and life.

Oh…and I started this blog 🙂

And you know what…some really cool things started to happen!

2014 Recap

I became happy again. I became me again.

I know we each have our own trials and struggles, and I’m sure some of you would trade my 20 something experiences for the pain and loss you have endured any day. But, I am a firm believer that God doesn’t give us anything we can’t handle. It’s all about how you let it shape you. And in 2014, I was able to finally look back and see how far I’ve come, how strong I really am, and how my experiences thus far have truly shaped me.

By no means do I have everything figured out yet…I mean when does anyone really have everything figured out?

But, I know I am on the right track {whatever that track may be}…and when I think about 2014 I will remember it as being a fantastic and empowering year for me!

Alright this was quite a heavy recap for me…let’s move on to something fun now, shall we!?
