Creative Halloween Costumes

Hello!

Halloween is on my Top 5 list of favorite holidays.

For. Sure.

If I could wear a costume everyday I’d probably do it…ok not really but I’d definitely consider doing it maybe 10-25 days out of the year 🙂

Back in my early twenties I used to spend money buying costumes, but that can get expensive. And who really wants to show up to a Halloween party dressed in the same costume as 5 other people.

Not me!

For the last several Halloweens I’ve gone the DIY route. It is cheaper and oh so much more fun.

Today I thought I’d share 4 of my favorite costumes with you for some early Halloween Inspiration!

An 80’s Themed Birthday Bash

Hello!

Last year I had a big {huge} milestone…I celebrated the big 3-0.

Unlike most 29 year olds I was excited to turn 30…and I wanted to have a celebration to start this next decade off on the right foot.

And to me the perfect celebration meant an 80’s themed birthday party 🙂

Unfortunately, this party and the party pictures were taken pre-blog…and they certainly aren’t as detailed as what I would have liked them to be now. But it was a great party and definitely worth sharing.

So for your “Flashback Friday” enjoyment come party with me like it’s 1983!

Since we are in the midst of wedding season I’m sure there are a lot of you who are in the middle of planning a Bachelorette Party. Here are some of the tips and tricks I learned while planning my best friend’s.

A Fun Bridal Shower Game

I wasn’t planning on doing another Bridal Shower post, but I had a few people ask questions about the game we played at the Shabby Chic Shower. So, I thought I’d break it down a little for you today.

I love playing games where you get to know a little bit more about the Bride and Groom, and their relationship. There is no better way to do this then by asking them each a series of mostly funny questions, with a few practical ones thrown in!

I did not come up with this list of questions on my own. It has been passed down to me by friends, and used to entertain guests at bridal showers for centuries I’m assuming 🙂 This is just my spin on it. Feel free to tweak the questions as you see fit for your shower. Now onto the game!

A Shabby Chic Bridal Shower – Part 2

Let’s be honest…people come to parties to eat. I think food displays add so much to a party. When you use the right kind of props to highlight your food it is so appealing! As promised, here is Part 2 of the Shabby Chic Bridal Shower where I focus more on our food displays, and a fun game we played to keep the guests entertained.

A Shabby Chic Bridal Shower – Part 1

Nothing excites me more than planning a party. I spend countless hours researching party ideas and pictures. I make multiple trips to craft and party stores just to browse. It is a serious full blown obsession. But, honestly what could be more fun!?

Last year my best friend got married, so you know what that means….bridal shower!! Since we are getting close to wedding season I thought I’d share her Shabby Chic Bridal Shower with you.

I can’t take all the credit for this party. My partner in crime was the bride’s sister. I think we make a good team, but I’ll let you be the judge of that 🙂
