Bathroom Remodel Project: Week 5

Good Morning!

Today marks Week 5 of the One Room Challenge….Week 5 people!!

Where did Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, and Week 4 go???

In case you haven’t figured it out yet I’m starting to feel the pressure of getting this thing done.

Big. Time.

But a good challenge isn’t really a “challenge” without experiencing a few bumps along the way.

So let me share some of these bumps with you today…

Bump #1: Wallpaper Issues

Bathroom Remodel

You know how last week I said I was going to “save” the full wallpapered wall reveal for the end?

Well…I lied.

My apologies 🙂

The truth is we ran out of wallpaper due to the wallpaper’s repeat. After the people at the wallpaper store assured us there would be enough.

They. Were. Wrong.

And the wallpaper doesn’t come in single rolls, so my sister had to order another double roll to finish one teeny tiny little space.

She was not a happy camper.

The extra wallpaper is in, we just haven’t hung it yet which leads us into our next bump…

Bump #2: Traveling Issues

The crew for this project {myself included} has been traveling for the last week.

Which means we haven’t accomplished anything since all the wallpaper drama.

Bathroom Remodel

And this one {whose bathroom it is} had to make an impromptu trip to Japan and China.

Ok…it wasn’t really an impromptu trip…but she’s gone and won’t return until next Wednesday!

We went from a crew of 4 to 3.

Then come to find out my poor plumber and handyman {aka Dad} is suffering from a small concussion he experienced during his traveling ventures.

Did you know that when you have a concussion you can’t drive, golf, hang wallpaper or install a faucet!?

Yeah…according to the doctor this is a big no-no.

The good news is my Dad will be fine. The bad news is I have to figure out how to install a faucet…and we are now down to a 2 man {woman} crew.

Fantastic.

Bump #3: Accessorizing Issues

Bathroom Remodel Inspiration

Remember all of these cool accessories like the rugs, faucets, and flowers?

We don’t have any of them yet…

But I’m a procrastinator at heart and am always up for a challenge!

And let me tell you my friends I am certainly facing a BIG one.

One Room Challenge you have met your match…it’s go time for the next 6 days.

Wish me luck 🙂

Don’t forget to check out how all of the other challenge participant’s progress here.

Have a good day!

  1. Oh no! Sorry to hear about your dad, hopefully he is recovering well. Don’t you hate when the people at the store are wrong and it ends up causing issues? So frustrating. I work well by procrastination as well, good luck! Looking forward to the reveal next week!

    • Thanks, Angela! I’m hoping he just needs to rest a little more than he’s used to. Yes, the wallpaper salespeople definitely caused us some unneeded stress…live and learn I guess. I’m looking forward to the reveal too, should be interesting 🙂

  5. I think bathrooms are cursed. Like you, my team is down to me and that’s no beuno in terms of tile installation etc. I haven’t had anything happen in my bathroom for 5 days now- so depressing. And like you, I also ran short on materials even though I ‘for sure had enough’- not cool. Anyhoo…crossing fingers we both finish by reveal time. Excited to see that wallpaper of yours!!!
