January always seems like a super long month to me. Maybe it’s because I spend a lot of time at home {because it’s too cold to go anywhere}, or because I hardly have any exciting plans compared to the busy month of December {hence some major post holiday blues}.
Super Bowl weekend has held a special place in my heart since the year 2012. For those of you that may not remember, Indianapolis hosted the Super Bowl that year. I didn’t actually go to the game {unfortunately, I’m not made of money…yet :)}, but I spent Super Bowl weekend attending the festivities in Indianapolis.
To date this is definitely one of the coolest experiences I have ever had…and I’m not even a big NFL fan.
So in honor of Super Bowl weekend, I thought it would be fitting to share a little bit of my experience with you…oh and of course I also have a yummy, skinny buffalo chicken dip recipe I’ll share in this post too!
Remember how I told you I was going to be more open about my life with you this year?
Well…today is one of those open days.
For. Sure.
When you are a single thirty-something {or twenty-something in my sister’s case} sometimes life or work gets in the way…and you don’t always have time to make your bed in the morning, put your clothes away, or sort through a stack of bills and junk mail. Sometimes it’s much easier to let those things go and sit down to watch an episode of the Real Housewives instead.
{Even if you’ve already seen that same episode 10 times.}
Although we try our hardest to keep the Purple Palace clean we are only human. So today we are going behind-the-scenes for a glimpse of what our home {gasp!} sometimes looks like.
Since we are already half way through the long {and let’s face it kinda boring} month of January I think it’s time we start focusing on the next great holiday…Valentine’s Day!
Today I’m sharing one of my latest Valentine’s Day-themed projects with you over at My Crafty Spot.
I’m not much of a new year’s resolution kinda girl. I prefer to sit down every year on my birthday {which is in October} and check off the goals I accomplished for myself that year. Some I accomplish…some I don’t, but it’s very empowering to check off things you kind of forget about. Then I make a list of new goals – professional, personal and some plain off the wall {you have to shoot for something!}. This process works for me.
So…when a new year starts in January I’m already focused on what I need to be doing to reach my goals for the year.
One goal I have this year is to read more.
And…I’m talking a real book. I want to turn a page, use a bookmark or highlight something if I need to. Totally old fashion I know 🙂
Today I thought I’d share a part of my 2015 book list with you…
This year for Christmas it seemed like everyone in my family got a Ninja blender.
{And when I say everyone I really mean my mom and sister, but of course that means my dad and I did too since we each live with one of them. Oh the joys of having a roommate!}
I’m a huge fan of blenders…you see when you are “learning” how to cook you can’t possibly mess anything up in a blender.
Throw everything in…and if it doesn’t taste right keep throwing more stuff in until it does.
Piece. Of. Cake.
So, in the spirit of eating healthy in the new year {and me wanting to test out the new blender} I thought I’d share one of my new smoothie recipes with you today.
You see 5 is my lucky number…so anything with a 5 in it has to mean good things, right!?
I think so 🙂
On Monday, I shared a little recap of 2014…and the top 5 most popular posts of the year with you. Today, I’d like to share my personal fave posts of the year.
